Le Mura is a stone built Tuscan farmhouse which has has been lovingly restored by a conservator. The name of the house, according to local historians, dates back to its etruscan origins. All the chestnut beams and cotto floors have been preserved. The inside walls are painted with the traditional white wash except where a piece of the original fresco has been uncovered. The house is simply furnished with a mixture of country antiques and contemporary pieces.

The front door is reached by a small flight of stone steps as is the tradition in this area. It opens directly into the spacious comfortably furnished Soggiorno (sitting room). The large traditional Tuscan Farmhouse Kitchen has a stone fireplace. The tiles are traditional hand-painted Lucchese tiles and the work surface is an antique Carrara marble bar top. The original washing font is by the fireplace. In the centre is a local chestnut table which seats up to 14. Baskets hang from the beams as they have done for centuries and can be used for gathering the organic fruit from our trees.
The massive master bedroom has a King-size bed and antique furniture.
The bed is placed in the centre of the room so you wake up to the most spectacular views. This room shares a shower room with a very large twin room, making a wonderful family suite or large private zone for smaller parties or honeymooners.
The other wing of the house consists of a beautiful double with an en-suite bathroom. The furniture is painted in the typical blue of the area. At the end of the house is another twin/double and a large bathroom with bath tub. Upstairs is a huge room with three beds and a sofa. There is also a quite study area. Throughout the house are interesting objects from the days when Le Mura was a working farm.
