The beautiful garden and grounds provide a wonderful setting for this villa farmhouse holiday rental. Outside on the top terrace under the ancient bay trees is a large table for al fresco dining. There are also other tables and sitting area in the grounds, including a hammock hanging in the olive grove. Children can enjoy tree swing and toddlers love the Wendy house. Teenagers and adults enjoy the boules pitch. Celia is particularly fond of cultivating old and wild roses.

Children can play in the wendy house or on the swing or you might all enjoy a game of boules. In November we harvest our olives. The oil in this area is very high quality because it is low in acid. The large grounds make this holiday villa very private.
Le Mura holiday rental house has its own wildlife. Owls can be seen in the centuries old sweet chestnut wood and also porcupines and deer. If you are lucky you might catch sight of a wild boar family. In the spring baby badgers play in the woods at the back of the house or the orchard. The house has lots of lizards who enjoy sunbathing. The butterflies are numerous and we are lucky enough to have dragonflies living by the swimming pool. The air in Benabbio is particularly clean which is why we have a garden full of fireflies and butterflies in the summer months. All the fruit in the orchard and garden is organic as is the olive oil we produce. We encourage guests to pick and enjoy the ripe fruit at Le Mura. Benabbio is famous for its chestnuts and funghi (Mushrooms). The land is abundant with wild herbs. If you look up high into the sky you might see the eagles circling. From spring our hill is a wash with wild flowers.
The location of this Vacation holiday rental Villa is north of Lucca in the hills above the famous spa town of Bagni di Lucca. The rental house is set in its own large grounds with an amazing view over 9 horizons of mountains and the national park of the Apuanian Alps in Garfagnana. Despite being in its own grounds the villa is not isolated being only a short amble away along a shepherds' path through olive groves to our village Benabbio.
